Camp Rainbow Gold appeal set

By Mark Dee

Over a year has passed since Camp Rainbow Gold first filed an application to build a permanent base in the Wood River Valley, and seven months since it saw the plan denied by the county Planning and Zoning Commission.

Now, three public hearings and a split-vote later, the nonprofit organization will have to wait one more month before taking its case up to the Blaine County commissioners.

Initially scheduled for Nov. 7, the appeal of the county denial has been pushed back until Dec. 5 while Hailey Mayor Fritz Haemmerle, who as a private attorney represents a group of East Fork residents filing a cross-appeal, recovers from a cycling accident suffered two weeks ago in Utah.
