THERE IS A LOT OF TALK ABOUT THE ROAD, WHAT IS THE PLAN?
West of Triumph, the road is paved and has been gradually widened by the County’s Road and Bridge Department. Although it is less than twenty feet in some locations, this width has been adequate for the County to issue building permits based on the Fire Department’s authority to modify otherwise applicable requirements under Section 104.8 of the International Fire Code. East of Triumph, there are certain locations where the road is less than 20’. Chief Elle has indicated that this is the area that requires improvement. CRG has reviewed the matter with the County’s Road & Bridge Department and has agreed to help widen in all areas where the road is currently less than 20’. These efforts will exceed the applicable requirements contained in the Cove Creek Development Agreement. CRG has submitted this widening requirement as a condition of approval.

HOW MUCH TRAFFIC IS ANTICIPATED AT THE PEAK OF CAMP SEASON?
East Fork Road has been exhaustively studied and surveyed by two sets of traffic engineers. Traffic engineers use level of service (A through F) to determine if a road has sufficient capacity. Most highway districts will conclude that a roadway is within capacity all the way down to Levels C or D in many cases.  Each engineering firm engaged by CRG has reviewed the roadway and determined that it will easily remain within Level of Service A—even during construction and even during the heaviest days of use at the camp. During camp season, we anticipate an average of 30 vehicle trips per day, or 15 to camp and 15 leaving camp. On the busiest days, the number of trips anticipated is 46–very similar to a five-lot residential subdivision. Once on-site for camp, campers and volunteers typically stay throughout the whole week, and only leave the property in the case of an emergency. As a result, we can minimize the traffic to and from camp and will continue to be diligent and efficient to minimize usage of East Fork Road through carpooling and park and ride options.

DO YOU HAVE A TRAFFIC MITIGATION PLAN?
Yes. A plan has been prepared by AECOM that includes carpooling and park and ride efforts to help keep traffic to a minimum. The majority of the carpooling volunteers come from Boise so their cars are left in Boise. We will not be using the public park and ride lot at the beginning of East Fork.

WHAT KIND OF VEHICLES WILL BE ON THE ROAD?
We utilize high occupancy vehicles like buses and vans, as well as cars.

WILL YOU PLOW THE ROADS IN THE WINTER?
We will work with the neighbors, as the current owners have, in sharing in the cost to maintain the roads.
