Activities and amenities

Children riding horses

As welcome campers, families, activity providers, and volunteers from Camp Rainbow Gold and other Idaho medical organizations, many activities and amenities are available while portions of the property is still under construction.

We completed some renovations in 2021 and 2022 to begin to host programs for Camp Rainbow Gold and other groups and programs while we continue to focus on our full master plan to welcome groups of all sizes to Hidden Paradise.

What’s on Site

ArcheryTaking aim and hitting a goal or missing and trying again, control, focus, and support—these are vital lessons our campers learn each summer through archery and shooting, rewards far more important than equipment housed at the range.

Ropes Course – Ropes courses build confidence, teamwork, and trust. Our course will feature challenges for every level and have paths for all abilities.

Art Shack – Friendship bracelets, bottlecap necklaces, shrinky-dinks, and more. The Art Shack is where campers come to unwind, rest and connect with others. The Art Shack is traditionally the heart of camp each day because it offers something for everyone—from elaborate ceramic creations to coloring books.

Bike Trails – We have the bikes, the dream—and now—the space. Three mountain bike courses will include a child-friendly, all-accessible course for campers learning to ride or with restrictions, a more challenging course for teens and adults looking for skills-building, or just a good work-out, and a trail ride into the canyon for teens and adults looking for a longer excursion.

Playground – A playground and yard games are a great space to pass the time between activity sessions and give campers a free space to get to know each other.

What’s on the horizon

These are just some of the exciting activities and amenities we’re looking forward to at Hidden Paradise. If you’re interested in getting involved to financially support these or any other amenities, please contact Lonni Leavitt-Barker at

Swimming Pool – On a hot summer day, an afternoon in the water is a must! With activities supported and supervised by a certified lifeguard, some of our campers might be trying to swim for the first time, working on their confidence in the water, or playing fun games with their friends. Our pool has been generously donated by Premier Pools and Spas while we continue to raise funds for the building and infrastructure.

Boardwalk – A boardwalk for fishing and overlooking the main pond will be home to many kids casting out their first line and experiencing the triumph of making a catch.

Climbing Wall – For many kids, the climbing wall is one obstacle they are determined to accomplish at camp. The wall pushes them beyond their expectations. More tears have been shed and cheers exclaimed for kids conquering the climbing wall than anywhere else in camp.

Outdoor Movie Venue – We’ve found the perfect nook on the side of a hill to carve an outdoor movie theater. Welcome campers to enjoy a fun night under the stars by outfitting this space for the big screen.

Mini-Golf – With a nod to the golf course origins of our property, we’ll offer campers a fun three-hole mini-golf course.

Sports Court – Hoops anyone? This versatile court is ground zero for basketball, badminton, pickleball, volleyball, or tennis.

Amphitheater and Stage – Carved into the hillside, this outdoor amphitheater will be home to impactful gatherings and memorable performances. The amphitheater will feature log benches cut into the hillside looking down on a stage and a large fire ring. This promises to be one of the most beloved spots at camp.

Horse Corral & PavilionSwiftsure Ranch partners with camps to bring horses on location for trail rides. For many kids, it is their first time on a horse. For others, a chance to reunite with an old friend. Help us keep this much-loved tradition alive with a space specifically designed for this activity.

Activity Pavilions – As a medical camp, our space requires accessible shade, shelter and bathroom facilities throughout the property. Activity Pavilions will sit near camp’s archery range, ropes course, and bike trails and provide bathrooms as well as storage and shelter.
