Welcome to our first volunteer newsletter! In each issue of our newsletter you will get a quick update about camp news, what is happening at Hidden Paradise, as well as upcoming volunteer opportunities and CRG events. Each month you will hear from a returning volunteer and a first-year volunteer, and we'll share some tips or news from the ACA. This issue also includes memories about Heather Feely, a friend gone much too soon but who will always be remembered.

Volunteer applications will be available in mid-February, if you have any questions before then, please contact us at info@camprainbowgold.org. Camp training will be one of the first two Saturdays in May so please keep those dates on your radar as well. |

Doing Camp: What Today's Kids Need From the Experience Denise Pope, PhD, is a senior lecturer at the Stanford University Graduate School of Education. Denise shares information on youth mental health and the role camp can play in helping today's children. |
A Course in Courage
Candace Doby is an Atlanta-based speaker, author, and courage coach who works with universities and organizations to help emerging leaders activate their personal courage to perform to their potential in school, work, and life. Candace shares thoughts on courage and how camp can build courage from a young age. |

| Blake and John have been hard at work up at Hidden Paradise. They've been keeping up with snow removal, tearing out carpet, and moving furniture. Plus, all the cabins are now winterized!

| CRG Book Club!
Our first ever book club will meet at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 26 at our new camp office in the Alaska Center. The book we will be discussing is The Art of Gathering.
