Your February Volunteer Update

Welcome to month #2 of your volunteer newsletter — we're on a roll! In this issue you'll see a quick update about camp and training, what is happening at Hidden Paradise, as well as upcoming volunteer opportunities and CRG events. Plus, meet some of your fellow volunteers and check out a few articles from ACA. This month you will also hear from Sibling Camper Nolan about what camp means to him.

Mark Your Calendars — 2022 Camp Dates

Volunteer Training: May 7 and 14

• You will only need to attend one Saturday session
• After applications are approved you will be assigned a training date
• Videos to review ACA guidelines will be shared before these trainings
• This process is meant to reduce risk of COVID spread and exposure
• Training will be held at the Blue Cross Center of Idaho in Meridian

Camp Dates:

• Spring Family Camp: May 27-30
• Youth Oncology Camp: June 12-17
• Teen Oncology Camp: June 19-24
• Sibling Camp: June 26-July 1
• Fall Family Camp: September 8-11

Eleven-year-old Nolan has been coming to Camp Rainbow Gold for the past five years. He is an avid sibling camp and family camp attendee.

Blake's Bulletin

Great news from Hidden Paradise! The cabins have held up well during the winter and new roofing has been installed. The last 5 pyramid cabins are getting their carpets torn out. 

Blake has three barn cats that have been keeping him company. It's been an easy winter and Blake and John are both enjoying the longer days!

CRG Book Club!

Our first book club meeting is 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26 at our new office in the Alaska Center. The book is The Art of Gathering.

Book club will meet every 2 months and you are welcome to join at any time! Email stacie@camprainbowgold.org to join the club.
