John McClatchy Memorial

Hailey’s Buddy Isom enjoyed a profitable return from his $30 entry fee during the eighth annual John McClatchy Memorial “Big Fish” fishing derby Saturday, June 23 at Magic Reservoir south of Bellevue.

Isom won the $1,000 first-place “heaviest fish” prize when the rainbow trout he landed weighed in at 3 pounds and 8 ounces.

There were 111 anglers for the one-day tournament, quite an increase over last year’s 89.
