Idaho’s Medical Camp

Hidden Paradise is Idaho’s medical camp, designed to be a refuge for people living with medical, emotional, physical, or behavioral challenges. Here, visitors experience the healing power of nature while enjoying a safe, adaptive space designed to meet their physical and medical needs. 

Idaho’s medical camp began as a dream for Camp Rainbow Gold, which has served children living with cancer and their families for more than 40 years. For decades, the organization put enormous effort into setting up Camp Rainbow Gold a different camp sites in the summer, only to pack it all up again until the next year. 

With the purchase of Hidden Paradise in in 2019, Camp Rainbow Gold created its permanent home—and discovered how many more people it could help by opening the doors to organizations with similar missions. Now other nonprofits serving a range of populations have access to a stable, long-term medical camp they can retreat to again and again. Hidden Paradise is a place they can call their own, too. 

Hidden Paradise has undergone extensive renovations and accessibility upgrades, hired its own dedicated staff, and welcomed hundreds of adults and children from organizations other than Camp Rainbow Gold.
