Camp Rainbow Gold has such a special place in my heart. From the moment I started being a camper at youth camp, I knew I would never leave this community. Camp provided me with many things including being my true self, finding amazing friends, and having deeper connections with people who understood what I was going through. My camp friends and I always dreamt when we were young of being volunteers after our time as a camper came to an end. And that time is finally here and I just got to volunteer at the Spring Family Camp, which I will say was such an amazing experience!

Driving up to Hidden Paradise, I was feeling nervous about this situation because this would be my first year volunteering at camp and I did not want to mess anything up. However, I was proven wrong by my mindset. Because every time I enter into this community, I immediately feel at ease and ready for a new experience with them. This family camp weekend was full of fun and laughter throughout! I was assigned to one of the families and had such an awesome time getting to know them and what brought them to Camp Rainbow Gold.

I also made new friends that were volunteers and I feel really grateful that I took this opportunity and did not miss out on that. I learned off of this special weekend what volunteering means and how vital it is for my life. I believe volunteering at Camp Rainbow Gold allows me to give back for what they have done for me in the past and also allows me to help them build a stronger community for the children and families. I already feel like a better, improved self from this experience.

Thank you CRG!
