My Camp Experience

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 B-Cell Lymphoma in 2015 at the age of 12. During treatment, one of my nurses reached out to me about attending camp with an organization called Camp Rainbow Gold. When I first heard about going, I was a little nervous because I didn’t know anyone and hadn’t met very many people who shared similar experiences to me. After being able to attend camp, I can honestly say it was some of the most fun I’ve had in my life.

Favorite Memories

My favorite memory is towards the end of Camp where we do a big dance. The girls get to have makeovers and it truly is a bonding experience between all the campers. The staff and campers are all so welcoming and supportive and really make an effort to make you comfortable while you’re there. If you are hesitant about attending Camp, just go! It will be some of the most fun you have especially when going through such a challenging time. It gave me another family and will forever hold a place in my heart.
