Volunteer Appreciation Month – More than 30 days of thanks!

Apr 22, 2024 | Camp Rainbow Gold, Volunteers

Dear CRG Volunteers,

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and I wanted to take a moment to express Camp Rainbow Gold’s and my, gratitude for your dedication and invaluable contributions to our organization. Your commitment to serving our Idaho families has not only made a difference but has also inspired us all.

I wanted to take a moment to send a virtual high-five, fist bump, or jazz hands (pick your preferred mode of celebration) your way for being downright amazing and making our program such a fun, loving, a safe place for our campers and their families to come.

Every camp season, your selfless efforts and boundless enthusiasm shine through, enriching the lives of those around you, (campers, staff, other volunteers) and making our mission possible. Whether you’re lending a helping hand at events, offering your expertise in leadership, or sharing a hilarious joke at a campfire, your impact is profound and very much appreciated.

Your generosity of time, energy, and passion embodies the spirit of volunteerism, and we are truly fortunate to have you as part of our CRG community. Your kindness and compassion ripple through every aspect of our organization, creating a ripple effect of positivity that touches countless lives.

In 2023 we had over 300 volunteer roles filled by you. This includes 5 camps, 2 family events, 19 events, 1 Share Your Heart Ball, 3 Hidden Paradise workdays and a week of Idaho Gives. You all donated a total of 15,308 volunteer hours in 2023. What does this all mean? It means 1) you are all amazing and so generous, 2) you are the reason we can continue making sure all of our services to our Idaho families are free and accessible, and 3) you make CRG such an amazing and rewarding place to be.

In 2023 we were able to host 179 participants at Hidden Paradise for our camps. 32% of our volunteers in 2023 have been campers.. Our volunteer return rate was 73% compared to a national average of 65%. This means our programs are not only making a difference to our Idaho families, but they are returning to pay it forward as well. Thank you so much for recruiting and returning to make sure our future campers have the epic experiences.

So, here’s to you, our extraordinary volunteers! Thanks for being the secret sauce that makes our organization shine brighter than glowsticks during one of our epic dances. We couldn’t do it without you, and we wouldn’t want to try.

Keep being your awesome selves, and remember: the world is a better place because of you. Now go forth and spread even more smiles than you’ll see on tater tot casserole night.
With endless gratitude and a truckload of appreciation,

Keep Shining!
